When a family reaches out for a photo session in a pet’s final days, the goal shifts from a standard portrait to capturing a legacy. I was humbled to photograph Joji and his entire family, his three animal companions - Franklin, Gina and Buffy - and his parents, on his very last day.
That evening, Joji passed away at home, surrounded by those who loved him most. Being a pet photographer often means documenting joy, but sometimes it means documenting the weight of a goodbye. These photos are a tribute to Joji's life and a reminder that our time with our animals is a gift. I am so glad these moments were preserved for a family that gave Joji everything.
Oh Joji, you were truly loved. Thank you to the family for allowing me to be part of this delicate moment; it is the greatest honor of my professional life.
